FAQs

RecyCoolers can maintain controlled temperatures for up to 170 hours when used with the proper refrigerants (PCM, gel packs or dry ice, depending on your needs). The exact duration depends on the configuration and external conditions, but each RecyCooler is tested to ISTA 7E Extreme standards to ensure reliable thermal protection over multi-day transit.

Yes, from the outer corrugated box to the inner insulation – is made of paper and is curbside recyclable. After use, you can dispose of the entire RecyCooler in a standard paper recycling bin. This makes it extremely easy to recycle, much like breaking down an ordinary cardboard box. Choosing RecyCooler eliminates the waste associated with Styrofoam coolers, since the packaging can be fully repulped and reused to make new paper products.

Absolutely. RecyCooler is designed as a direct alternative to EPS foam coolers and offers comparable thermal performance. It has been proven to keep contents at required temperatures just as effectively as traditional EPS shippers. The big advantage is that, unlike foam, RecyCooler is eco-friendly and easily recyclable. By switching to RecyCooler, businesses can meet their temperature control needs and eliminate EPS waste. There’s no need to worry about reduced performance – RecyCooler’s ISTA Third Party Certified lab validations show it performs on par with common foam solutions while providing a sustainable upgrade.

RecyCooler is available in multiple sizes and formats to suit different shipping needs. We offer small parcel-sized RecyCoolers, mid-size options, and large pallet-sized RecyCoolers, from 2 liters up to 880 liters of payload. Whether you need to ship a single temperature-sensitive kit or double stacked bulk pallet, there’s a RecyCooler configuration to match. If you have specific size requirements, our team can also customize the dimensions to fit your product perfectly.

RecyCoolers are suitable for shipping virtually any temperature-sensitive products that require refrigeration, controlled room temperature or freezing in transit. This includes pharmaceuticals (like vaccines, insulin, biologics), clinical trial materials, diagnostic specimens, and other healthcare products. It’s also perfect for food and beverage items such as seafood and meats – keeping them fresh during delivery. Even specialty industries like composites, or cosmetics that need controlled temperatures can use RecyCooler. If it needs to stay frozen, refrigerated or just within a controlled room temp range, during shipping, RecyCoolers can handle it while providing peace of mind that the packaging won’t harm the environment after use.
